Custom Harley Davidson Iron 883 aka 'SEXY' by Motokraft Customs
We are stoked to present a very special custom project developed and executed at Pathpavers by Motokraft Customs. This collaboration brings about an endearing story of a father and his son, via a rolling art-form. We expressed this story on the mighty HD Iron 883. Our patron Akshat, an enthusiastic motorcyclist and a commercial pilot by profession wanted to celebrate his father through his beloved Harley Davidson Iron 883. He had precise and specific inputs for the build, but the underlying brief was to ‘keep it simple’… and so we did!!! Akshat lovingly named her ‘Sexy’, after his fighter-jet pilot father’s nickname in the Indian Air Force. We did not paint her, we did not add anything new but carved, shaped and sourced parts that held true to the brief. We wanted to bring about a fighter jet feel with the patina paint treatment & minimal vectors on either side. The wide straight drag-bars were sourced right here at www.pathpavers.in along with the beautifully sculpted CNC turn-signals and Denali tail-lamps. We revised the seat with an old school saddle seat, neatly carved and stitched upholstery to finish the old-school bobber character - that we were chasing. We rerouted the meter console on the left and sourced a headlamp that not only fit the layout but did the job of keeping things bright in the dark as well. As we chopped and hacked the Iron 883, we were amazed to see the quality of metal used by Harley Davidson. The 883 comes with a strong framework that almost manages to hold everything together when the IRON is revved to test. We were gladly surprised with the eagerness of this 12 year old girl as we finally rolled her out of the Pathpavers-workshop for the first post build test-ride. The guys at the workshop put in a stellar show of dedication on this build, working in tandem with Motokraft Customs showcasing a strong sense of camaraderie and collaboration. The team along with Akshat would spend hours on-end to fine-tune the simplification process as everyone pitched in with their inputs. Each one of us forged solid friendships through the build which makes this project extremely special for us. A custom motorcycle is always a story in motion, but the narrative of this build was something we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Mervyn Titus was called in to narrate this beautiful story through his photography, and we are rejoiced we did. Cheers to Sexy !!! “Motorcycles are great conversation starters But a custom motorcycle brings inspiration to those conversations” Samik Chatterjee, Motokraft Customs Designed by Motokraft Customs Developed at Pathpavers Workshop.
