Collection: Kawasaki Versys 1000

The Versys 1000 is Kawasaki’s flagship adventure-touring motorcycle that got more than just a styling update at the 2018 EICMA. And for 2020, the Japanese manufacturer has added a new new ‘Candy Lime Green’ with ‘Metallic Spark Black’ paint scheme. It is also available in the ‘Pearl Stardust White’ with ‘Metallic Spark Black’ colour that featured on the 2019 model.

The chassis of the Versys 1000 is based on the Ninja 1000, but the 1043cc four-cylinder engine has been updated to deliver 118bhp and 102Nm. The motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. Furthermore, the Versys 1000’s electronic package also features Electronic Cruise Control, two power modes, five-axis Bosch IMU, cornering ABS and Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) with three modes. Braking is handled by 310mm dual semi-floating discs on the front and a 250mm disc at the rear. The suspension setup incorporates 43mm upside-down front forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock, both being adjustable.

It competes against the likes of the BMW S1000 XR and Triumph Tiger 1200 in terms of specs. However, it is closer in price to the Honda Africa Twin, Triumph Tiger 800 xR, Ducati Multistrada 950, and BMW F750 GS.
